BIRTHDAY CAKES

Purpose: To ensure that each foster child in Alamance County receives a birthday cake and gift each year and feels special and cared about on his/her birthday.

Needs:

white or yellow cake mix
powdered sugar
canned milk
vanilla flavoring
vegetable oil
Betty Crocker Easy Flow Icing (pink and blue cans)
candy letters (pink combinations for girls, blue for boys)
sprinkles
butter
cream cheese
eggs
cake pans
candles (pink and blue)
birthday cards (ages 1-18)
photograph frames (age appropriate)

*A member of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church (fondly known as the Cake Lady) bakes and delivers the cakes, cards, and gifts to the social worker who takes them to the children on their birthdays.
